Chicken Strips

Yea – you can get them at KFC, but that’s not what your buddies are talking about when they point at your tires. Chicken strips are the portions of the outside of your tire tread which do not get ridden on much. These strips on the outer portion of the tire are often appear different than the portion of the tire which gets lots of use. The word chicken is implying that you are a “chicken” around turns since you’re not getting enough lean angle that you would engage this portion of the tire. Of course, don’t let this get under your skin. Keep riding and in time the chicken strips will get eaten away by your growing cornering skills.
